The many years of experience have taught me that the more valuable and unique data the user has, the less likely he or she will have a backup of that data. Limitations: “Downloading iCloud backups and photos” sounds good enough let’s do that! While this may be possible (as in “you may be able to find a tool that actually works”), the problem is whether you have those backups at all. We have not seen any consumer-grade tool that can download your passwords or messages (SMS and iMessage history) because end-to-end encryption. This may include backups (although we are yet to see a tool that can do that reliably, let alone free of charge) and some synchronized data (which may include your photos if you enabled the iCloud Photos setting in your iPhone). The data recovery tool can try downloading (thus “recovering”) information from your iCloud account. ![]() What the tool does: Interestingly, the claim is not necessarily a lie. While a specialized data recovery lab could try temporarily reviving the water-damaged iPhone for the time they need to copy your data off the device (and charge you an arm and a leg for just trying), no end-user software (and definitely no free software) can do that. User expectations: The bold claim makes me think that the tool can somehow magically extract information from a sunk device that cannot be powered on. Let’s first deal with the “water damaged” claim, as in “the device doesn’t power on”. ![]() The company makes a bold statement, claiming that its tool can “Recover data lost due to water damaged, broken, deletion, device loss, etc.” (original spelling preserved). ![]() When researching the various data iOS recovery tools, I was baffled by the very ambitious claim made by one data recovery company (you’ll easily find it if you look). Let us place the claims through our usual scrutiny. Do any of those tools actually work, and do they live up to the user’s expectations? The answer is complex, hence this article. These tools’ claims range from “Recover data lost due to water damaged, broken, deletion, device loss, etc.” to the much more reserved “Selectively recovers iPhone data from internal memory, iCloud, and iTunes”. ![]() There is no lack of tools claiming the ability to recover lost or deleted information from the iPhone.

![]() You can find the folder in the SEGA folder in your My Documents (or even just Documents) folder. Now that you have the Character Appearance Data saved, you need to actually open the folder they went to. If you just wanted to transfer the character appearances to a different version o PSO2 (Such as Steam to Windows 10 or even the Japanese version to Global and vice versa), these same steps are what you would follow to load them in after finishing Step 2– just click “Load Data” and pick the name you had saved to load them back in. ![]() If you haven’t made a Character yet or want to make a new character to transfer, you would follow these same steps from the Character Creation screen. Repeat this as many times as you want for different characters. I usually either just use the character’s name or a name explaining what it might be for. ![]() Once in the Salon, you want to scroll down to Character Data in the left-hand menu:Ĭlick Save Character Data and then name the file whatever you’d like. If you’ve never been there before, you can find it on the second floor of the Shopping Plaza to the left when getting off the Elevators from the Gate Area or on the East Side of the map. Saving the Character Dataīefore anything else, if you haven’t done this before, you want to log into the character whose data you want to transfer over and head to the Salon. If you want to fully transfer your character’s play data, that’s the whole account linking progress and you can not link your Global account to Japan unfortunately. Keep in mind this is just for appearance data of a character. Whether you want to see your PSO2 character in NGS or maybe you just switched computers and want to keep any character appearance data you may have saved or just want to move them to a different version of PSO2 (whether a different client or region), this essentially explains where the files go and where you need to move them!
